2020.07.17 18:16 _c9s_ Areas without Coronavirus spread (17th July update)

Here's an update to the post I made last week looking at the end of the spectrum we're not talking about so much - where we're not seeing many cases of Coronavirus spreading in the UK.
Orkney and the Western Isles are the only areas that haven't seen any cases in the past month now, with the other areas that were getting close last week mostly having a low number of cases crop up over the week.

Here's a big table of the date of the latest case reported in each local authority/health board, and how many cases they've had in the past two weeks:

Notes for Scotland

Scotland reports data based on local health boards rather than local authorities and with the date they were reported rather than the date the swab was taken. This will result in higher numbers than elsewhere and the latest cases being slightly more recent than the rest of the UK.

Notes for NI

Some parts of NI are reporting negative cases, which is mathematically impossible. I believe is due to the authorities reporting data incorrectly and then correcting it later without updating the historical data.

2020.07.09 18:44 _c9s_ Areas where Coronavirus isn't spreading

With lots of talk about the places where cases are spiking, I thought it might be interesting to look at the other end of the spectrum - where we're not seeing any cases reported.
Below is a list of all the Local Authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and health boards in Scotland, the date of their most recent case, and the number of cases in the past two weeks. Sorry for the length of this post!

Derry City and Strabane is the only part of the UK that haven't seen a case in over a month, with Uttlesford (in Essex), the Scottish isles (Orkney, Western Isles), and parts of the South West (Bath, North Devon) only slightly behind with no cases in the past 3 weeks.
Living in one of those areas, it does make me quite a bit less hesitant to do things like go to the pub, since there's such a low chance of catching it.

Notes for Scotland

Scotland reports data based on local health boards rather than local authorities and with the date they were reported rather than the date the swab was taken. This will result in higher numbers than elsewhere and the latest cases being slightly more recent than the rest of the UK.

Notes for NI

Some parts of NI (and also Scotland) are reporting negative cases, which is mathematically impossible. I believe is due to the authorities reporting data incorrectly and then correcting it later without updating the historical data. In Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, as an example, there had been 754 confirmed cases on the 25th of June, which has dropped in several stages to 744 today.

Data sources

Edit: Welsh data was missing. I've added it now!

2020.05.17 15:17 jcollywobble Which part of the UK produces the best footballers? (Experiment) (Part 1)

After taking inspiration from u/Mel0n_collie world cup thread, I’ve set up a similar experiment which I’m planning to simulate on Football Manager 2020 which has kept me busy over the last few weekends during lockdown.
Hopefully, this experiment will provide the answer to the following questions:
Which part of the UK produces the best footballers?
Where do the real footballing hotbeds lie in the UK?
What if the Premier League was split into 20 teams representing UK regions of equal population?
Essentially, I’ve split up the UK into 20 equal(ish) geographical regions, with the idea being that each region has a team made up of players born in that region. I’ve used this website which shows the population of each county, I then calculated that each team should be made up of players from a region of 3.26m people (65.171m/20). Teams are filled up with whole counties, except for Greater London which has been split up into 3 regions due to having around 9m people in total. Note: Due to the diversity of the county populations and the challenges of geographically dividing the UK, some teams have slightly more/less than the aforementioned 3.26m people.
Split of Counties into Teams
https://preview.redd.it/2ney8b7fobz41.png?width=777&format=png&auto=webp&s=664a8a135dc29363406a819c89c296d339db1934
Here we have it, the 20 regions have been split up. Team 14 (Greater Manchester) have the smallest population but hopefully the produce of the academies of Premier League giants Man Utd and Man City will come to the fore. Team 7 has the largest population, but it remains to be seen whether this will translate into footballing ability just yet. I have also made some maps using my below-average paint skills to help visualise the split geographically.
I picked each team using a database of players from Football Manager 2020. I extracted a list of players into excel and began manually allocating each player to a team based on their city of birth (according to FM). Ultimately, I ended up on a squad of 25 players for each team and have tried my best to allocate an even positional spread throughout each squad so that the AI managers aren’t forced to play any ridiculously attacking/defensive formations. Squads have been loosely picked around current ability, reputation and transfer value.
Each team will be managed by a manager born from the region they are managing. I’ve allocated the manager with the highest reputation in each region according to FM to each team. This will add an extra element to the experiment and will be to interesting to see how much of an influence some of the better managers will have on their respective teams.
I will be posting the teams in groups of 5 over 4 posts, I will also be running a predictions game when all the 20 teams have been released so keep an eye out for that. I will then be posting the results of the simulation and prediction game on the fifth and final post.
Without further ado, I will reveal the first 5 teams one by one below in numerical order (I would also like some suggestions on team names for each region, as I am aware they’re not very creative!)
__________
Team 1 – South-West - Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset – Population: 3,450,896.00
Media Prediction: 16th - Title Odds: 350-1
Manager – Darren Way (Plymouth, Plymouth U18)
https://preview.redd.it/4ectj9vpobz41.png?width=510&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d967a07ea6011c4cf8ea7f6ac9a2ee83fc44d0e
Likely Starting XI
A region famous for Pasties, Cheese and Cider, the South West has brought to the nation many good things but unfortunately footballers (and managers) don’t seem to follow that trend. I had to search long and hard to find a manager that was born in this region. I eventually found Darren Way, who according to FM is the current Plymouth Argyle U18 Manager who recently had a spell in charge of League Two side Yeovil Town. Predicted to be in the bottom five come the end of the season, this squad seems like it will need a manager with a bit more experience to do anything of note.
The squad lacks all round quality, especially fullbacks, lets hope Darren Way is impartial to a 3 at the back system. Stand out players include Leeds United defender Ben White who has had a great season in the championship this year, Tyrone Mings, who has recently won his first England caps and Austrian U20 capped Burnley striker Ashley Barnes who looks like the best attacking option in the side.
Amongst the rest of the team, Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer look like they’ll occupy the flanks and will be hoping to re-ignite the success they both had together at Swansea back in the 2011/12 season. Jack Butland and John Ruddy will be competing for the number one shirt, who along with Tyrone Mings, share the squads total England caps (11) between them. The team also some exciting young talent in Ethan Ampadu and Xavier Amaechi, who are both currently learning their trade in the Bundesliga.
Arguably the best player in the Championship this year to date, Ollie Watkins will be hopeful to add some more goals to his ever increasing tally.
I am not hopeful for this team, considering the lack of top players and with the inexperienced Darren Way in charge but I’m hoping he can prove me wrong!
__________
Team 2 – South-East - East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent – Population: 3,495,475
Media Prediction: 20th - Title Odds: 600-1
Manager: Lee Johnson (Newmarket, Bristol City)
https://preview.redd.it/bxyum58xpbz41.png?width=539&format=png&auto=webp&s=290fe752211ad1ae898e9eb0fe2fffe16538aee1
Likely Starting XI
Up next, we have the combined counties of Sussex and Kent, the South East of England. Taking the reigns is Lee Johnson, current Bristol City manager, who has done well in recent years in the championship. However, in terms of ability it doesn’t get much worse. The media have predicted them to be rock bottom at the end of the season and have offered odds of 600-1 for a title win for Lee Johnson’s men.
The squad does boast the experience of Gareth Barry, who is the record all-time premier league appearance maker (653) and has also been capped 53 times by his country will be a frontrunner for captain duties. Sunderland ‘til I die fan favourite Jonny Williams makes an appearance in midfield along with Solly March who looks to be the most promising player in the final third.
The goalkeeper spot looks to be an issue with not one of the three goalkeepers being the first-choice keeper in their respective championship club sides. However, the Brighton duo of Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster look to be a solid partnership at the back and will be hoping to limit the amount of shots at goal.
With weaknesses in goal and up front, the media’s prediction is probably warranted, lack of goals looks to be a big worry with none of the forwards seeming to have top-level experience. I would be impressed with Lee Johnson if he could lead the South-East to safety with the resources at his disposal.
__________
Team 3 – South Coast - Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey – Population: 3,135,638
Media Prediction: 8th - Title Odds: 30-1
Manager: Neal Ardley (Epsom, Notts County)
https://preview.redd.it/myk6l7clqbz41.png?width=617&format=png&auto=webp&s=863311423567a60bc3fd4beca94decfb9384bea3
Likely Starting 11
South Coast is managed by former Wimbledon and Watford winger Neal Ardley, current manager of National League side Notts County. Another manager who lacks top level experience will be hoping to make his mark at a higher level.
This team has a bit of quality compared to the previous two and has plenty of premier league experience with a total of 10 players capped by their country. England Internationals Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mason Mount have genuine quality in the midfield and will be hoping to create the supply for Danny Ings to grab plenty of goals. However, In defence, Calum Chambers is the stand out player out of an average bunch.
Neil Etheridge, who qualifies for the Philippines by virtue of his Filipino mother will compete with Southampton number one, Alex McCarthy for the starting keeper spot.
Described as a ‘fairly determined’ squad, South Coast have a lot of industry in the team with players like Matt Ritchie, James Ward-Prowse and Tom Cleverley and will be hoping that this translates on to the pitch with some good performances.
The overall verdict in this squad is that they have enough ability and experience to finish the top half and could even push top four in my opinion.
__________
Team 4 – South & West London - London Boroughs: Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth, Islington, Camden, Brent, Ealing, Hounslow, Richmond upon Thames, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Sutton, Croydon – Population: 3,369,408
Media Prediction: 6th - Title Odds: 9-1
Manager: Roy Hodgson (Croydon, Crystal Palace)
https://preview.redd.it/yyb6xy0erbz41.png?width=580&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd158544449df1eb805284797573675ff88a4196
Likely Starting XI
The first of the three London teams, which spans most of south and west London is managed by Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson. Roy has been a football manager since 1976 and has a wealth of experience to draw upon, including a four-year spell as manager of his country. Despite being at the ripe old age of 72, Roy isn’t the oldest manager in the league..
The squad, tipped by the media to finish 6th, is an exciting young squad with plenty of players tipped to be a big part of England’s future.
Premier League loanees Freddie Woodman and Jamal Blackman (who is currently playing at Bristol Rovers on his 7th successive year out on loan from Chelsea) will compete for the starting keeping berth.
Man Utd fullbacks Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will almost certainly occupy their respective positions and will hope to offer an attacking outlet bombing on from their full back positions. One of England’s one cap wonder’s Steven Caulker, who currently plays for Turkish outfit Alanyaspor also makes an appearance in defence.
In midfield, Declan Rice and Callum Hudson Odoi, both recently capped by England are the strengths which the team will rely on whilst fellow youngsters Ademola Lookman and Steven Alzate who has twice been capped for Colombia will also be looking to make an impact.
In Attack, Euro 2016 hero Thomas Henry Alex (Hal) Robson-Kanu, Sone Aluko and Lewis Grabban will all fancy themselves to start.
The youthful squad will bring a lot of pace and energy to the league and Roy Hodgson will be hoping for a top six finish at minimum. I think the squad has enough depth and quality to potentially go all the way.
__________
Team 5 – East London - London Boroughs: City of London, Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Bromley, Lewisham, Greenwich, Bexley, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Newham– Population: 3,009,408
Media Prediction: 1st - Title Odds: 4-1
Manager: Chris Hughton (Forest Gate, Unemployed)
https://preview.redd.it/5xjrm7rlrbz41.png?width=467&format=png&auto=webp&s=d8a8181cad75f86378130f0ca1dc0c49dc7f517d
Likely Starting XI
The Media’s favourites, made up of London Boroughs including and east of City of London is the 2nd smallest in terms of catchment area but certainly doesn’t lack quality. Ex-Brighton manager Chris Hughton is in the dug out and has a strong team which looks to have Premier League level quality all round apart from maybe in the goalkeeper position in which Fulham’s Marcus Bettinelli appears to be the likely candidate to start.
An all premier league back four consisting of Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez, Chris Smalling and Ryan Bertrand, share 74 England caps between them look to be solid partnership and will be hoping to keep as many clean sheets as possible in order to be in with a chance in the title race.
Key man, Jadon Sancho, one of, if not the most exciting player in the league, will be hoping to chip in with as many goals and assists as possible from wherever Chris Hughton deploys him. Jadon has 14 goals and 15 assists in 21 starts this year in the Bundesliga and should be uncontrollable for some of the defences he will be up against . Talented Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be hoping to remain injury free throughout the season and make a good partnership with Jonjo Shelvey who will be looking to dictate play in the middle of the park.
Bradley Dack, who according to FM is likely to play off Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham will be looking to provide enough chances for Tammy who should have enough with the level of creative quality surrounding him.
Overall, A very strong team who will be hoping to keep Jadon Sancho injury free all season. Probably rightly favourites for the title, however, will face tough opposition from some of the teams yet to come…
__________
That’s all for today folks, I hoped you enjoyed the concept and are looking forward to finding out the level of quality each of the remaining teams have in store. I’ll be posting the next five teams in the next post, so keep an eye out!
Also let me know if i've potentially missed anyone or made any errors.

2020.02.11 22:41 thechattyshow #GEXIII [Cornwall and Devon] thechattyshow starts campaigning (repost because I tagged this wrong oops)

Storm Ciara has been named the Storm of the Century, with it’s 100mph winds and the immense impact it has had on the environment. With massive disruption nationally, postponing football matches, damaging buildings and causing flooding in areas. Locally, in Cornwall, it had a major effect on the area, that had not been seen before in a long time. In the Cawsand area, it turned the ocean red due to the mud which had been washed off from the valleys and into the sea. It was for this reason that Liberal Democrat leader, thechattyshow, decided to take to the streets to aid the people getting Cornwall and Devon back up and running, making it safe for people to get to their work.
There were multiple things for the Leader to do. First of all, he had to get around and arrive at locations. His first stop was Plymouth train station, where commuters were facing train cancellations. “Do not worry, for the Liberal Democrats are running a #LiberalDemocratBattleBusReplacementService. On our #LiberalDemocraticBattleBusReplacementService, we are handing out free Liberal Democrat t shirts, shot glasses and will be having a karaoke service onboard”. Multiple people jumped up in joy, exclaiming their happiness at how the Liberal Democrats were supporting them getting to work.
Whilst I am here, let me talk about some of our manifesto policies. Any requests? “Education”, a woman shouted out. “Brilliant, let me highlight some policies”.
1. Skills wallet
“The Skills Wallet is a bold Lib Dem initiative, which gives you, yes you, money to afford adult education. With a shifting job landscape, it is crucial that you are able to keep your skillset up to date. Sadly a lot of people don’t have the finances available to do this, so the Liberal Democrats will ensure every adult has a fund. We call it a Skills Wallet.
2. Eramus+
We know how much of a great program Eramsus+ is for students. The freedom in studying in countless fantastic European universities is not to be understated. That’s why we’re committed to supporting Erasmus as we leave the EU. Neither the Tories or TPM have mentioned it in their manifesto. We do.
3. Youth Apprenticeships
Finally, for all you young’uns here, we have policy for you. We know that conventional schooling doesn’t work for all, and that a lot of times apprenticeships are a much better way of learning, and you get paid! Mums, no more paying for the latest Fifa game! (outbursts of laughter from the mums).
So thank you all, and best of luck for the rest of your day. Vote Lib Dem!”

How to nominate

Make sure to link to the post you are nominating and not just the photo. Please check to make sure the post hasn't already been nominated, any duplicates will be removed as they mess up voting.

We're a growing family, my partner and I are having twins due in June. We've been kind of holding out for a lump sum due to me in inheritance however it doesn't look like this is likely to arrive any time soon. So we need to move really as soon as we can, we have had a property in mind for a long time and yesterday we got it and pick the keys up on the 30th.
The snag is that there are so many moving costs associated with rental properties in the UK, Have to pay deposits, reference checks etc.
We've managed to scrimp and save about £500o and that's been used to cover the deposit and my reference check, however there is still £300 left to pay.
I would love to be able to take the stress away from my partner as this pregnancy hasn't been great, and I'd love to be able to pay it all off in one go, with the help from this community.
I'll be repaying £400 on the 30th April.
Edit 1 - added correct repayment date - 30th April.

2018.12.26 02:41 IceDragonus23 Progress Report 16; The British Breakdown

Now is the Hour...

"The British have a remarkable talent for keeping calm, even when there is no crisis."
- Franklin P. Jones

“You should sit down.”

There was fire burning bright, but there was a greater deception to be made. The tent billowed with the wind, like the lips of an impatient relative, eager to catch up on what had happened. On what was going to occur.

The man, shrivelled and greying, grabbed the side of his stomach. His fingers tensed and his voice shook from the agitations of his affliction. What could be recognised as a chin, despite its slumping and small stature, waggled as he got to his feet. He spoke in tongues of the future, past and present. They became a union, as they were tied to a tree and crucified; as the pain went through his body again. The legs that carried him were like a malnourished crane, but he carried wisdom heavier than a parliament of owls. There was a rumbling in the distance; perhaps the mountains sneezing. Or Vikings laughing.

His wife carried his frail form to a table, wood splintered and colour drained. Her face was wrought with the sins she had been guilty to carry, anything but ordinary in their origin. She knew that loneliness was a creeping illness. The future held only memories for her.

How had their hope been rewarded?

The tepid bleeding he had purged in the night, forgotten in yesterday’s cloth and cries for pain.

The harsh words, the mistakes of his voice turned into a champion’s call in parchment. History turned to mud, sculpted in his bony hands.

The diplomacy, a bully’s last goodbye with the back of his hand. He had been turned into a toy amongst bigger lions.

And now the sun had finally begun to set. The night was drawing in, behind his balding head. What was orange would become blue, and then black. But it wouldn’t last forever. Heathens prodded his face, his soul tempted by ecstasy, but he remained steadfast. He remained the man he needed to be. But as his son whimpers about duty, as his daughter chases a dream far to the north, he can’t help the frown. He can’t stop the tears.

The wind is his only company as the day draws to a close. There’s nothing left for the world to offer him to change his mind. His dream will never be reality.

His family will never remember him as anything but a fool. Doomed to fight against Danish dreams. A quarry for the Godless to drive a stake further into their home. He should have become another puppet.

His son, beginning to show the same ferocity he had just years ago, teeths and asks him to come home. He asks him to be the father that he thought he could be. To raise him to the next standard, he would have had to be stronger. But the pain won’t end. Satan in his belly won’t give him. As he stands up to pat his son, his pride and his joy, on his firm shoulders . . . he collapses in his arms.

“You don’t have to do this.”

Soldiers gather their love and hate in one weapon, as metal is sharpened and emotions wracked. The future fight is beyond their capacity. Some look up at him and scowl. Others, somehow, rise from it.

He tells his father to go to bed. What a waste this bag of flesh had become. Bones turned into firewood would burn brighter.

The tears won’t be gone anytime soon. The pain only gets greater. But for one reason or another, whether it would be his wife’s panicked voice at the prospect of his independence, or his son’s stern worry at the existence of his father’s strength, he does not sit down.

He does not sit down.

His legs quake like a horse just learning to walk. But he has the heart of a lion.

“Father, the Vikings will be here soon.”

Alfred does not turn around.

He raises his sword arm, carrying the weight of the past, present and future upon it. The metal pierces the air, but still shakes. He strains, his arm barely reaching past his shoulder, carrying so much upon so little. His entire body cries out in a rapturous gasp, his very nature telling him to stop. The body that God had given him was just another test.

Tremble. His hand begins to dip, but he keeps the sword as high as his shoulder can get it.

Pain. Searing pain. He begins to falter, but does not let his disease define him.

A few eyes glancing become many. A wooden garrison becomes a great opera.

His son, realising his mistake, begins to cast a spell.

Long live the King resounds throughout the wooden garrison.

Long live the King, as Alfred’s body breaks apart at the seams. From blood can bonds be born.

Triumph, as Alfred the Great creates England.

Anthony Eden exits the Paris negotiations, head held higher than the cathedrals of the city of lights. Eyes beaming more than the moonlit waters that gave the city such romance. Papers flew, rapturous words thrown around like javelins, but nothing compares to his great stride. A Mandate had been created, and he had fulfilled his obligations. There would be a new Britain, a new home, for all the people that had lost theirs. More had been made from less; the beginning was here. The beginning of Eden’s power had seen such great progress. The people could rest easy knowing that Germany and Canada had seen past their differences and compromised. It had not been pleasant, as all necessary things tend to be, yet they had kept sailing. Kept treading the water until they hit land. Keep resisting the urge to do what was easy.

The man rests his head against the back of his seat as the cab draws around a roundabout, turning for longer than expected. Waiting to turn off, Eden grabs his belongings. A paper-briefing about unrivalled German demands sits in one hand, as he focuses on the other. Inside his grasp, a collection of multi-coloured pills. A sigh.

Failure, as Eden destroys England.
British Reconstruction Authority PR 2:

Hello, I’m Carmain, one of the newer devs to the Kalterkrieg team, and I have been forced at knifepoint politely asked by Chroma to write a new Progress Report, looking deeper at an already revealed nation, the British Reconstruction Authority (or the BRA, which it will be referred to as from here on out, as it is internally in development). Now I haven't written all of the PR, so special thanks also goes out to James and Chroma for helping me flesh it out.

As the dust settles from Heimdallr, it is time for the British Isles to rebuild. Whereas Progress Report 5 looked at the Focus Tree for the BRA, as a Christmas Gift this PR will be delving deep into the events & politics of the BRA, as well as the nations it creates. As was said in PR 5, and is still true now, the BRA has been conceived in Kalterkrieg as a short lived transitional state, which will usually end in some level of disaster & italianisation. But more on that later, let's take a look at the new Politics & National Ideas screen, made mostly by yours truly (It's still a WIP, but isn't everything :D):

The Current KRG Political Screen
The National Ideas screen has been overhauled, taking obvious inspiration from Kaiserreich’s own one while adding some mechanics to better flesh out the nations. I’ll start with the Government Policies category. With mobilisation and militarisation being different in Kalterkrieg to Kaiserreich, to account for the different setting, Economy Law has been removed and 4 new ideas have been added to better embellish the situation inside your nation at any one time.

GDP growth, which modifies industrial statistics. Press Law, predominantly affecting War Support & Stability. Education System, which brings about a whole wide range of benefits and maluses. Immigration Law, which also has a range of costs and benefits.

The 3 other categories are to be expected from a KR-esque mod. Government Ministry modifies your countries politics & industry, Production Companies modifies your arms & munitions production, and Military Staff modifies your armies, navies and air force. Anyway, that's enough about the National Ideas screen, let's look at the BRA!

(Actually before we do, nothing in this PR is final, and most things are subject to refinement and alteration.)

With the chaos of the initial occupation subsiding, it is time for the BRA to do what it’s set out to do: Reconstruct. King Edward VIII activates the Reconstruction Mandate under the popular Anthony Eden, drawing ire from German delegates, who support the more authoritarian and German friendly Unity Mitford. Nonetheless, the Canadian government have complete faith in Eden’s ability to reform the United Kingdom. However, the slightly annoyed Germans will be the least of his troubles.

Totalism still lingers on the Isles, and the most radicalised of its supporters still fight for the same twisted ideals the Third Internationale did during the Second Weltkrieg. One woman on a pavement may not be enough to bring down a government, but an underground army of neo-syndicalist traitors would be. Eden, despite the assassination attempt, is reluctant to step up policing and pre-meditative apprehension of possible syndicalist sympathisers. Your first choice is a big one, let Eden continue on his mandate, or overhaul the mandate under Unity Mitford, quickly, and before another such event can take place. We’ll show both paths in this PR, but for now let's allow Eden to continue his mandate, and move on to the Birmingham Trials.

Obviously for a set of trials so massive and monumental, selecting the right judge is key. Both the Canadian and German sides of the mandate have their prefered choice, and with deadlock among them it's up to you to decide who you pick to sentence the criminals.

Another important choice is how extensive the trials will be. Everyone on all sides want justice, but who exactly is deserving of the justice is where that opinion differs. To the more liberal, the Totalists are the ones who corrupted the Union of Britain and put them on the warpath that nearly destroyed the continent, but to the more conservative factions the Unionists, who laid the groundwork and aided Mosley's rise to power are equally to blame. By selecting the first option, you will have less trials to preside over, however the second may anger the moderate leftists who don't vilify all members of the unions. For sake of showing content, let's choose the latter option, and put them all to trial.

During the Birmingham Trials you act as the judge, the jury and the sometimes executioner, giving the final words and choosing who deserves imprisonment, and who deserves to hang. Currently there are 10 trials, 9 lives to decide along with putting the demonic Mosley to rest, though this number may increase with development. Once the trials have concluded, and the final public hangings carried out it is time to actually start reconstruction.

Each major political faction has their own plan, their own ideas to streamline the mandate and revive the United Kingdom. With reconstruction being slow, the mandate allows each political faction to complete their own missions, which begins to raise their political popularity among the de-syndifying masses.

While you continue down the focus tree there are other political debates to handle too. With the immense damage the Germans directly caused to the Isles, some are haisty to return their deeds to land that could be appropriated to speed up reconstruction. The tensions between the Anglos and the Germans are beginning to exacerbate, and it won't just stop here.

At another time, once the main R.E.D forces have been dealt with, the issue of militancy & terrorism still remains. The issue of gun control, something that was removed under syndicalism to bolster Britain's defensiveness, need to be revisited. While everyone agrees the syndicalist-minded need to be disarmed some factions want to go a step further, restricting gun ownership across the board. Another political debate, another hurdle in the way of rehabilitating a nation.

However, we would be remiss to say that everything is bad in the BRA. Even under clouds of darkness, light still shines through. British ingenuity has allowed the wider populace to become more involved in the rebuilding process, with initiatives such as “Helping Hands Cinemas” being just one of the good things coming out of the isles, a testament to human resolve.

Eventually things will calm down. The rebuilding process will be smoothly ticking along. The tensions between Anglos and Germans will have subsided, for now. With peace reigning, the Reichskanzler has arranged a series of negotiations in Paris to settle a solution, to transition from the temporary reconstruction mandate into a new, modernised United Kingdom. Eden and his cabinet fly out to Paris immediately to start talks, which will decide the fate of the British Isles. Eden is confident in his ability to mediate between the two emerging global powers; Canada and Germany. With the father of the King-Emperor needing to be buried in Britain, and the father of the Kaiser being buried by Britain, the fate of the island is intertwined with the intentions of the powers. With his shoulders held high, Eden enters the gathering with the intention to be the man who will save Britain.

He will be remembered as the man who watched it burn.

The German demands start fairly reasonable. In the wake of such a brutal war waged by the Union of Britain, they want the new British nation to only have a small army to reduce the chances of such an event ever happening again. So reasonable enough for the Canadians to accept.

However, the demands quickly become personal, stemming from the death of Kronprinz Wilhelm after a bombing raid on Cologne in 1940. But surely this won't get more limiting.

The Germans demand that the remaining navy is disbanded, and limits put in place to stop their naval dominance from ever returning. A strike to the heart of the empire, but the Germans can't ask for even more. Right?

The Germans, continuing to push their remit, want the new British economy to be fairly tied to that of the Kaiserreich, distancing the isles from their own brethren in the Entente who desire Britain out of German ties. But even if the Mandate sell their markets to the Germans, this surely must be the end to their demands. The Canadians press on, without so much as a whimper, as they ponder the future of German confidence. Their continued two-faced diplomacy of agreeing to German demands, and then calling them outrageous behind closed doors and to the press, only pushes the Germans to break the Canadian will and gain another victory in Europe.

Finally, the Germans go for the heart of Great Britain; the 1707 Act of Union which bound England and Scotland together. For Britain to survive, they must sell their very soul to continue their existence. With the Canadians caving in to every demand, this is the final straw. Germany tests the waters, not just for acceptance of the United Kingdom, but of domination. Kaiser Wilhelm can only give his support as the British are pushed further and further to their limit; who will show their true colours first?

If any of these terms are rejected by the Mandate, which is the most likely possibility, the talks will end and the Mandate will be severely undermined. With German and Canadian garrisons beginning to skirmish and rub against each other, the future of Britain is thrown up into the air. German troops, controlling much of the south, refuse to pull out of the nation until a compromise is reached. Canadian troops refuse to get anything but the returned sovereignty of Britain.

Anthony Eden flies home to find popular demonstrations against the lengthy and unproductive occupation. German diplomats, realising the possibility of unrest, appear to cave in to Canadian agitations in the north. But with a second round of negotiations bound to happen in secret, the people and the soldiers are unable to hold their breath.

And then things get worse.

And things then get even worse.

And once the two sides are at a standoff, when tension is higher than it ever has been before, the spark ignites:

Henning von Tresckow, a leading general of the German Garrison in the BRA, enacts a secretive plan to consolidate control in the Isles, purely in the name of stability, before it descends into complete anarchy. From his base of operations in Plymouth, Tresckow gathers various allied paramilitary groups, as well as much of the garrison that is feasible, before declaring an independent Duchy of Cornwall and Wales. With his armies moving out in all directions to secure territory, the Mandate is taken completely by surprise. Firefights across the country erupt between soldier groups of the two sides, and he is able to quickly secure Cornwall & Devon completely, with the local leadership either evacuating to London & Canada, or aligning themselves with the formidable German force.

However, despite their strength the chaos makes fully securing land difficult. Seeing Wales as a loyal part of the Entente, Clarence Bruce and his small band of allies made the daring decision to break away from the German militia, but their advantageous position across the Bristol Channel made any attempts by Tresckow to maintain Welsh loyalty pointless. Without a bullet fired, another nation secedes. Panic spreads through the Mandate as they try to scramble their meaningless military to stop the moves, but are powerless.

With Tresckow pushing into Somerset and establishing a frontier at the beginnings of Gloucestershire, there is an outcry for greater autonomy; spearheaded by the popular and, not at all surprisingly German-backed, Duke Percy Seymour. With the power granted to him in the Re-Establishment Act, and with the entirety of Somerset behind him, Seymour pulls out of the Dukedom of Cornwall with a band of militia, rallying the call of the Dukes of Wessex, a barely recognised but still politically significant title for the people of Britain, especially the peers and authorities that still believe in the rule of birthright. In a matter of days, the Duke of Somerset, Percy Seymour’s authority reaches all the way to Kent, where even Edward’s brother maintains loyalty to Somerset for the time being. None of these movements, however audacious, outline their undermining of royal authority - even Edward, painfully watching in London, cannot execute royal prerogatives in a disarmed nation, with Germany breathing down his neck. The power he possesses is next to none, despite his calls for greater solidarity. Despite his calls for unity. With the only solution to the collapse of the Mandate being open war, Edward is helpless. In a mad scramble, the peers of Gloucestershire and the midlands prepare to defend to their territory against the inevitable; the total collapse of the British Reconstruction Authority.

The Duke of Norfolk, the premiere Duke of England, exercises great authority over his militia, establishing a Dukedom of East Anglia that seeks to protect the authority of the crown, but in the process, undermines any sense of democracy and unity in England. With the support of the Earl of Essex, London becomes the kindling of a smoking flame, as Wessex and East Anglia launch campaigns to secure the support of the city against the growing unrest in the midlands.

Any German minister with half a mind resigns from the Mandate; its legitimacy and efficiency tarnished, it is nothing more than a standing statue, about to collapse with a gust of wind.

In Ireland, Germany moves in to form a Provisional Irish Government in order to maintain order on the island, and gain a Reichspakt-loyal foothold in the process. There is celebration as Irish sovereignty is once again returned, but no British governor or peer cheers; as Britain burns, Germany lights a cigarette and smokes its cares away.

The midlands succumb to the destruction that the Re-Establishment Act had tried to avoid; with confusion and chaos rife in Britain, any underground organisation shows its true colours. A grand uprising, the remainders of republicans, socialists and Unionists take up arms against the lords of the land and form the British Republic. Despite the chaos, despite the fighting between Canadian, German and British militias in the heart of Britain, the Republic begins operation from Birmingham, where anyone loyal to the Union and Republicanism can live in peace. London is cut off from the north, still retaining its loyalty.

Finally, the only places left loyal are forced to reform. King Edward VIII takes over control of the Mandate, forming Northumbria with the only loyalist territory remaining. With the Act of Union in contention, Scotland, lead by Philip Christison, declares for the king which provides Edward a loyal & stable state by his side. After fighting from all different groups, London is re-established as the City of London, under the rule of a hastily assembled parliament that is loyal to the King. Nominally, London is in the Accord, though they aren't a very effective member of the alliance.

The BRA is Dead
And here lay the ashes.
Before we have a delve into the breakaways from the former BRA, let’s have a break and read a wonderful short story written by Lon!

Robert laid face-down on the beach. He had a feeling, for reasons he could not remember at the moment, that that position was not his favorite.
Sensing tickling on his hand, he opened his eyes. He was then immediately reminded why he disliked laying face-down on beaches.
Robert sat up and cleaned the sand from his eyes. A small crab was crawling on the palm of his hand, its appendages wiggling. The young man threw it back into the water, where it landed with a distinctly annoyed ploop.
Now, thought Robert, what did they teach me in the Forces about being stranded in hostile territory?
As the sun began to set, he considered his situation. He had no food. He had no water. However, he was still dressed in his Canadian uniform - as muddy as it was - so It would be quite stupid to call out for help.
He called out for help.
His yelling didn’t seem to have changed much of anything. He called for help again.
A few seconds later, his second edition of yelling produced substantial results, as the click of a pistol being loaded was heard behind him.
“Hands on your head!” A voice called out in a slight French accent.
Robert obliged. One of the things he did remember from his training was that the guys with the guns are generally the ones whose friendly advice you should be following.
He turned over to face his captor- and stopped immediately when he noticed the man’s Canadian uniform.
The man with the gun seemed to have noticed Robert wearing the same clothes.
“Oh”, he said as he lowered his dripping wet gun.
Robert similarly lowered his hands. “You from the invasion as well?”
“Oui, oui”, replied the soldier. He unloaded his now obviously dysfunctional pistol, his attempt in intimidation turning out to be unnecessary. He extended his hand. “Mon name is Antoine. Quebecoi. You?”
“Robert.” He shook it. “Do you think anyone else survived?”
Antoine shook his head. “I been looking for hours. No one but you.”
Robert stood silently for a while.
“What are we going to do now, then?”
The Quebecoi pointed towards a nearby hill.
“There is an house there. We can go. They maybe be nice.”
“And risk getting caught?”
“Yes.”
That made sense. Robert followed him onto and over the hill, from which it was possible to see a small, wooden house. While all of the curtains were closed, light shone through them.
As the pair made their way towards the house, sounds of talking became clearer and clearer. Friendly or not, there was definitely someone in the house. As Antoine raised his hand, Robert suddenly remembered the photos he saw of soldiers captured by the Syndicalists, and was about to tell Antoine to stop befo-
knock knock
The talking stopped, and was followed by the sound of chairs shuffling hastily. Robert was worried they might have been abandoned, but a few short moments later, the door was opened.
Antoine smiled, trying to put on his best act.
“Hello, mada-”
“Yeshellomistersoldierit’ssolovelytomeetyoureallyitishailtheGrandProtectorforallowingmetomeetwithsuchlovelypeoplejustlikeyourselfit’salwayssuchapleasureitreallyisnevergetsoldIamveryproudofourmilitaryforprotectingusfromthecapitalistswhichIhatesinceI’malawabidingcitizenoftheunionandIdedicatemylifetotheprotectionoftheworking-”
“Lady, lady, please!” Robert interjected. “We just want to rest.”
The woman quickly nodded, her face bloodless and pale. Robert suspected her panic stopped her from noticing their Canadian uniforms.
They walked into the house. The living room they entered was modest- a couch, a table supporting a small radio, and a fireplace with a couple of pictures on top of it. To the right, a small door lead to the kitchen.
“My name’s Robert, by the way. And this right here is Antoine.”
The woman stared at him awkwardly.
“...What’s your name?”
“Martha, sir!”, she nearly yelled at him.
”I, uh, I see. Well, thank you for allowing us in, Martha.”
”My pleasure, sir! I’ll be in the kitchen! If you need anything! Sir!”
Almost immediately, she was gone with a slam of the door.
”Well then,” murmured Antoine, “not the most inquisitive of women.”
”I think she thinks we’re cops,” replied Robert. “Do Unionist cops have similar clothes?”
Antoine shrugged.
The sound of fast footsteps began to emerge from the hallway. A young child appeared, carrying a doll.
”Mommy, stop being nois-” he stopped when he noticed the pair still standing near the door. “SOLDIERS!” he yelled excitedly.
Before Robert or Antoine could do anything about it, they were being surrounded by a sinlge kid who seemed to be in five places at once, with each version of him asking a different question.
”Do you have guns?” “How many monarchists did you kill?” “What division are you from?”
Antoine looked at Robert. “We are from, uh, the third… erm...”
”People’s division…” added Robert.
“...Of destruction of the bourgeoisie..?”
The kid jumped seemingly faster than gravity was able to pull him back into the ground.
”NO WAY! Christopher has that division’s trading card!” He turned towards the kitchen door. “MOMMY! There are soldiers here!”
Martha quickly entered the living room and took the kind to the side, loudly whispering at him.
”William, you should be asleep! And what did I tell you about bothering soldiers?”
“But mommy, soldiers are coooool!”
She whispered something Robert couldn’t hear, then turned towards the two Canadians.
”Sirs, I made some boxes with food, sirs! Feel free to take anything you want! Sir!”
”Thank you, madam,” said Antoine. He and Robert walked into the kitchen, where two neat boxes were waiting for them.
”I think she doesn’t exactly want us here,” said Robert as he washed his face in the sink. “We should leave.”
Antoine nodded. He took his box and handed Robert his own.
They snuck out of the kitchen, the house’s two inhabitants having seemingly gone to their rooms. As Antoine opened the door to leave, Antoine had one last look at the pictures on the fireplace. In one of them were a smiling Martha, a laughing William, and a man hugging them both. Probably the father.
Robert wondered where he was.
He closed the door.

And now we’re back. Hope you enjoyed that short break, now it's back with the show.
In the end, the BRA has fractured, split into different factions all vying for importance. Now, it's time to look at the breakaways in detail.

The Duchy of Cornwall (PatAut): Generalmajor Hennig von Tresckow was the commander of the 1st German Garrison, based in Plymouth, as well as the German pick for Regent of Cornwall during the Parisian Negotiations. When the reconstruction mandate collapsed, Tresckow used his Garrison as well as other paramilitaries to secure swathes of South-Western England and Wales in the name of not one side or the other, but that of the protection of Cornwall against a revolution and the safety of the Duke of Cornwall, the son of Edward VIII. Though much of this area broke away the Duchy of Cornwall still holds a considerable amount of power, with the largest standing military in Britain, at least in the immediate aftermath of the collapse. Despite Reichspakt support, the bi-partisan nature of the commanders and ruling staff means that the nation is, for now at least, nominally non-aligned in global affairs. The future holds threatening tidings for Cornwall, as the Duke of Devonshire is unlikely to bow to Tresckow’s blatant militarism and will seek support from Cornwall’s main rival, Wessex under Somerset.

The British Republic (RevRep): Organised by a broad cabinet of republican politicians, the British Republic’s aim is to bring democracy to all corners of the Isles, though how effectively they can action on that goal is up for debate. The largest breakaway by land area & population, but possibly the weakest militarily, surviving as the British Republic will be a struggle. Once the initial chaos has died down, and the new republican constitution has been written, it will be time for elections. 4 main parties will form during the nations infancy:
  • The Labour Party (SocDem), lead by Ernest Thurtle.
  • The Socialist Party (RevSoc), lead by Clement Attlee.
  • The Liberal Party (MarkLib), lead by Donald Wade.
  • The New Democratic Party (SocLib), lead by Woodrow Wyatt.
Based in the heart of the Isles, their broad political options opens up different opportunities; under the socialist parties the Republic will be non-aligned, while the liberal parties advocate for at least alignment with the Accord, if not full on membership. But the nation is full of chaos, as many Dukes within the area will not stand for such republican tendencies; warfare engaged in streets and roads, bodies piling up before a government can even be called. The German militia are much less prominent in the heavily socialist interior.

Wales (AuthDem): Proclaimed by Clarence Bruce, Wales starts out as a fairly weak breakaway rife with unrest. Bruce has loudly declared his support for the King & the Entente, however the socialist-minded masses rally under a different figure, SocDem politician Gwynfor Evans. With Wales, two main options decide its path; Stay authoritarian under Bruce, and join the Accord despite public ire, or [proclaim a republic], wherein its elections will almost certainly be won by Evans. Under Evans, Wales will be non-aligned and insular, though they may ally with the British Republic to defeat monarchism if the situation becomes dire enough.

The Duchy of Wessex (PatAut): Holding much of the South of England, Wessex is a large breakaway of the reconstruction mandate. Lead by Percy Seymour, previously the Duke of Somerset, Wessex enjoys a choice of alignment afforded, like in the case of Cornwall, by bi-partisan staff who for now want to ensure stability in the face of anarchy. This stability is fleeting however, and Wessex can quickly find itself combusting internally if its different mechanisms aren't kept inline. Wessex’s independence is also another weakness. It will be a while until Wessex drifts into one of the factions of the Kalterkrieg, and a patchwork government of paramilitaries and peers means despite their military strength, Wessex could suffer an internal collapse. With so many earls, lords, counts and Dukes to maintain loyalties with, Wessex can expect to either hold great influence in England as the premier Mandate remnant, or another victim of its collapse.

The Duchy of East Anglia (PatAut): Bernard Fitzalan-Howard, Duke of Norfolk declared the Duchy of East Anglia to protect his interests in the region, and in a bid to further his influence within the devolving region. It is likely that East Anglia drifts into a neutral alignment as they gain strength, which will aid their power-projection over the British Republic and Wessex. While Norfolk will want to keep his appearance of royal loyalty, the continuation of the collapse would only benefit his standing as a powerful and popular leader. But if Britain resurges and shows strength in these trying times, ideological choices will become available, Fitzalan-Howard will remain head of state no-matter the choice, but an option of democracy is possible, forming a semi-constitutional monarchy under the German system, which will allow the Duchy to move to a Auth. Dem ideology.

The Provisional Irish Government (AuthDem): Created after a brief IRA uprising that was legitimised by Reichspakt forces, Ireland serves to provide the Reichspakt with an opening on the isles, one that can be backdoor manipulated easier than Cornwall can. Initially Auth. Dem under the provisional government, Ireland has 3 distinct political paths to choose from which will be shown off at a later date.
Though they don't have explicit territorial ambitions of their own, Ireland allows the Reichspakt to project their power into the British Isles, and alongside a Reichspakt-aligned Cornwall; they will effectively allow the Kaiser to consolidate Britain in his image.

Scotland (PatAut): Under General Philip Christison, commander of the Scottish Home Guard, Scotland has gained its independence in the mess of the Mandate’s breakup. A capable commander, and a popular leader, Christison himself has a free reign to do whatever he so wishes politically, and can choose to stay at the fore and lead with paramilitary rule, or take a stepback and form a republic to manage the day-to-day running of the country. Diplomatically, Scotland is the Accord’s first, and only truly loyal ally in the Isles aside from Northumbria herself, and with a military comparable to that of Cornwall's will act as the frontline troops to push the Accord influence south through the country.

The City of London (AuthDem): Lead by a broad coalition of politicians from across the political spectrum, London acts as a forward base for Accord operations, as well as a shining target for all of the new independent nations. He who controls London controls Britain, so the defense of London will be paramount, and with the city not having any territorial ambitions this defensiveness is at the fore of every choice they make.

[REQ] (£150 ) - (#Plymouth, Devon, UK), (11/4/16), (Bank Transfer)

Firstly the repayment date is when I get Student finance, I'm sure before then I'll be able to repay but this is the absolute last day. The money has been approved to my account and it's a matter of waiting.
I'm starting a new job in a few weeks and would like to be able to buy a few shirts and maybe some trousers, it's a fairly professional office. I've budgeted for pretty much everything, getting to work, food etc is all covered but it's left me with about £45. The loan will be used to buy office clothes and live between starting the job and my first paycheck.
Of course I'm more than happy to negotiate interest and send across a copy of the confirmation letter, along with any other requests (Social media accounts etc)

[REQ] (£200 ) - (#Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom), (11th April), (Bank Transfer)

Post contents

Hey,
I recently had a successful job interview for a trainee Architectural technicians position within a major housebuilder in the UK, however I will not actually get paid from this role until the end of April (due to having to work 1 month in hand) I start this position on 22nd of Feb and it is in Launceston (25 miles from my house) Thankfully the area is covered quite well by buses, however the charge to use the bus is £102 a month, I have paid this and it has left me with £100 in my bank.
This loan would be used to cover various things, mainly sustaining myself during the first month of working, I would like to buy some office clothes (I have 1 shirt, tie and trousers and would like to buy 2 or 3 shirts) as this is a fairly professional role.
I will be able to repay this money, plus any interest, on the 11th April as I am due my final student finance payment of this year (Studying at Plymouth University), the money is processed ready to pay so I cannot envisage that not going into my account.
I am able to supply screenshots of the confirmation of employment email, the student finance email stated the payment dates and when I get my welcome pack (I am travelling to Launceston this Monday to sign contracts and meet various people) I will send them across.
Many thanks,
Chris.

In one season, there is 9 rounds, or gameweeks as we call them. In one GW, there is four questions for country and four questions for club. One GW often takes around four to seven days. If you answer right faster than your opponent and your teammates on a question, you get a goal. Also, there is two predictors every GW, one for country and one for club. Predictor means that you will predict the result of a game in real life and if you get it right, you will score more than just one goal (in FQT). All this applies to the leagues.
However, in FQT Club Cup, there is a different format. 16 teams participate and it all starts with a group stage. Four groups. The 4 group winners and the 4 group runners-up advance to the quarterfinals. The teams who finish 3rd and 4th gain entry to the FQT Club Trophy instead. Then the knockout stage start (FQT Club Cup), which consist of quarterfinals, semifinals, a bronze final and a final. FQT Club Cup is always played on a Saturday. The same kind of format applies to FQT Club Trophy too. It's spread out but we will inform you about the dates for each season. What seperates the FQT Club Cup and FQT Club Trophy from the leagues is that you will know when the questions come in FQT Club Cup & FQT Club Trophy. In the leagues, it's spread out randomly, so don't forget to turn on notifications for our tweets so you can be there and answer as fast as possible.
In Country League 1 & Club League 1, there are 10 teams (10 in Country League 1, 10 in Club League 1). The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned champions. The teams placed 9th & 10th will be relegated.
In Country League 2 & Club League 2, there is always a randomly amount of teams. New teams will be placed here. At the end of the season, the two best teams in each league gets promoted to League 1.
If two teams finish on level points, on the same place (in the table), this is what separates them:
1) Head to Head 2) Goal difference 3) Most goals scored 4) Least goals conceded 5) Most games won 6) Least games lost 7) Playoff question
If more than two teams finish on the same amount of points, it is Head to Head points taken between the teams in question first. After that, it's the same order, with overall goal difference, most goals scored etc.
This criteria applies to all competitions. Each competition for itself. Cup results isn't included in H2H for leagues, etc.
If you have any questions about our quiz, you can always DM us on Twitter. We answer all questions. It might sound confusing at first, so we recommend new players to keep answering the questions and you will get into it by time.
Basic information & stuff
Admins board
FQT is run by a team of five Admins. If you want to get in touch with us, you can DM the account.
One-off games routine (finals and bronze finals)
In finals and bronze finals of the FQT Club Cup, FQT Club Trophy and FQT World Cup, plus the FQT Super Cup, all players of the two teams contesting the game will be added to a group chat some days before match. All players who has answered for the teams during the season/tournament will be added. Players and the Admin leading the negotiations will try to find a time that fits as many as possible. In each game, it's basically first to 3 goals, but the game is also over if it's 2-0 after four ques etc. If the scoreline is level after five ques, "sudden death" ques begin, so the first team to score on a question after that wins the game.
Ahead of each game, we will put out a tweet asking if the players of the teams are there. We need at least one like from each team to be able to start the game. If one (or two) of the teams isn't there, we wait at most 10 minutes. Still no response after 10 mins, we start anyway.
Answering time in these games is two minutes (you have two minutes to answer). If no right answer after two mins, we move on. If you answer right after it's been two mins since the question was posted, then no goal.
Requestion routines
If a question isn't clear enough, correctly stated (as in, if we ask who's scored 10 goals in some competition this season when no one has) or there isn't any correct answer to the question/among the alternatives, a requestion should be done. However, the entire Admins board always take the decision regarding requestions, with the QM giving his view of it. If a requestion is to be released, the question that was wrong will be deleted and not count, while a new question will come. The new question doesn't have to come directly, but the QM can tell if it will come soon (within some minutes) or later (as in over 30 mins up to hours).
GWs routine
Every gameweek always starts, and ends, with the "Whistle blows" tweets. Ahead of every GW, we release the fixtures, however when it comes to GW1 for League 2, teams will get their opponent after answering on a question. League 2 teams who join later will also get an opponent after answering on a question.
On each question, we do scores, giving out goals to teams/players who scored on the question (being faster than their opponents). After the GW is over, we do results and tables, hence always updating the table after each GW. Country predictors will always come around the third country question and onwards (same for club), hence keeping the predictors late in the GW.
FQT Ballon d'Or
At the end of every FQT year, we hand out our own Ballon d'Or prize, to the player who has been the best during the year that has been. Every player will get a information message from us, where we ask you to give 3 points, 2 pts and 1 pt to the, in your opinion, three best nominated players. However, to be able to take part in the voting, you must have been active for at least two of the seasons during the year. By activity we mean: at least five questions/predictors answered during a season.
Gala votings
The Admins decide all non-POTS prizes for every Gala on our own, with every Admin giving one vote. Most votes win (majority). For the POTS awards, however, each Admin gives points votes (3 pts, 2 pts and 1 pt). The players also get a hand in votings for POTS awards, by answering the polls we put out ahead of each Gala. The winner of the poll recieve 6 points, the runner-up 4 points, third 2 points and fourth 1 point. The Admins points votes + the poll results is then put together, with the one having the most points altogether winning the POTS award.
New players joining
New players who join FQT has to answer our welcome tweet and confirm their teams to us, before the player can start playing/before we can start giving out goals to the player. Confirm your teams, then start playing. Everyone who follow us gets a welcome tweet.
Administrative changes
The FQT Admins can in cases where a League 1 side don't have any players take the decision to relegate the team, and hence promoting a team from League 2 who originally didn't get promoted. The Admins can also vote on changes of the format to our competitions, however the change(s) will have to go through after the current season is over.
Other things
If a question in our club cup competitions doesn't come at a set time (10.00 am, 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm BST), the FQT Admins has to put out a tweet saying the question is delayed, and confirm a new time for the question, as players are obliged to know when questions come in the FQT Club Cup/FQT Club Trophy.
To be able to count as a winner of a trophy, you would have needed to score at least one goal or answer at least five questions/predictors during the season. Club and country separated.
If you are planning to stop playing/retire, please tell the Admins about it. It's good for the future of your teams. We can then also keep the system updated and fresh. If a player comes back after retiring, he/she can choose new teams, but it has to be done with the Admins' approval.
FQT has a group chat for our players. If you want to be added, just like this tweet.
Rules
On questions:
  1. It is not acceptable to change your first answer on a question. If you do that, you won't get a goal on that question.
  2. Full name - If the question states "full name please", you will have to answer with the full name of the answer. For an example, you'll have to write "Zlatan Ibrahimovic". You won't get a goal if you only answer "Zlatan". If the question don't ask for full name, then you can go with a short answer, but it must still be a logical answer. With full name we mean first name and surname. Only "Harry Kane" is fine, you don't need to write "Harry Edward Kane", for an example. If the answer is a club or country and a full name is required, it's full name its known by. For an example, Borussia Dortmund and Real Valladolid, not only Dortmund and Valladolid. Full name its known by can also work on player names, for an example "Jozy" Altidore works on Josmer Altidore and "Izzy" Christiansen works on Isobel Christiansen.
  3. If you forget full name and then correct it, we can't give you a goal. However if you write full name but spell some letters wrong, it's okay to correct it, as per the spelling rules (see #5).
  4. Remember to answer with the right code. If the question says, "3 letter COUNTRY code", you should put your country code next to your answer. If the question is, "Which country won the 2014 FIFA World Cup? 3 letter COUNTRY code" then you answer "Germany ENG" if you're playing for England, for an example. Insecure about your codes? Scroll down in this post and you will find it. If not, DM us on Twitter. If you put wrong code or forget your code, then it's fine as long as you correct/put the code in a tweet next to your answer. If you don't use the correct code, and don't correct it, you won't get a goal. If your opponent answers right before you have corrected, "inbetween" your answer and your correction, he/she gets the goal.
  5. Spelling rules on questions: 1-5 letters, zero mistakes allowed. 6-9 letters, one mistake allowed. 10-13 letters, two mistakes allowed. 14+ letters, three mistakes allowed. You're allowed to correct the answer if you spell some letters wrong. 1-5 letters, one correction allowed. 6-9 letters, two corrections allowed. 10-13 letters, three corrections allowed. 14+ letters, four corrections allowed. If you're technically wrong, we won't give you a goal, even if the spelling rules cover. For an example, if the answer is Ireland, and you answer Iceland, then no goal. The very first letter of the answer must always be spelled right, for an example, if you spell "Beymar" instead of Neymar, you won't get a goal. If you spell "Teal Madrid" instead of Real Madrid, you won't get a goal. You can, however, correct this, as a normal spelling error. Also make sure the order is right - we won't accept "United Manchester" if the answer is Manchester United, for an example.
  6. When we has started to give out goals for a question, you can't answer that question anymore (you won't get a goal if you answer that question when scores are being done/has been done).
  7. Predictors - Remember to don't predict the same as your opponent or your teammates. Predictors has to be made before the kickoff time. If the game starts at 7.45 pm, then all predictors should be made before the clock turns 7.45 pm. Predictors made after the set kickoff time won't count. Only the first four predictions from each team will count. If A, B, C, D and E predict, predictions from the first four will count. But if A changes his prediction after E has posted, the predictions from B, C, D and E will count. Players deleting afterwards to make someone else score, who originally wouldn't, will result in cards.
Predictor system: 0-2 goals (in a real game, like a 0-1 or 1-1 result): 2 goals in your current FQT game. 3-4 goals: 3 goals in FQT. 5+ goals: 4 goals in FQT.
FQT Cards System
In FQT, we give out yellow and red cards, for behavior that isn't acceptable.
  • Changing answer = one yellow card. New players who don't know the rules can pass though. It's up to the Admins.
  • Disrespectful comments, sexist/racist comments or any other thing that violates people's rights: card. Colour of card depends on the Admins decision.
  • Unsportmanlike conduct can end up in yellows, but it's up to the Admins if it's unsportmanship or not.
  • Banter is of course allowed, but we will step in if we feel like it has crossed a line.
  • 3 yellow cards leads to a one game suspension. One game suspension, if it's in the league, is for both country and club.
  • Straight red means that you get suspended for the rest of the GW and the next GW (if it's in league), however the FQT Admins can decide to extend the suspension.
  • League cards and cup cards are separated. You need 3 yellow cards in cup competitions to get a ban in cup and 3 yellow cards in league games to get suspended in a GW. Country League 1, Country League 2, Club League 1 and Club League 2 is one bracket. FQT Club Cup, FQT Club Trophy and FQT Super Cup is one bracket. FQT World Cup is alone as a bracket.
  • Cards remain over time. If you have got a yellow card, you will only get back to 0 yellows after getting 3 yellow cards. You will get cleared after a suspension. If you're on one yellow and gets a straight red, the yellow will disappear. However if you reach 3 league cards while also being on 2 cup cards, your cup cards won't disappear, as that is separated.
  • The FQT Admins decide on each case.
Cup tied rule
You can only represent one club in a cup season. Applies to both FQT Club Cup and FQT Club Trophy. If you play for a club on loan and the club reach the FQT Super Cup, you will be allowed to play in the Super Cup before you leave. If you have been on loan and come back to a club that is in the FQT Super Cup, you won't be allowed to play in the Super Cup, as you didn't play for them during the season. So one club per one cup season (FQT Club Cup, FQT Club Trophy, FQT Super Cup).
Transfer policy
In FootyQuizTournament, we have transfer windows, so you can move clubs. The rules + information that's good to know regarding transfers in FQT:
Summer window & Winter window
Two transfer windows every year, one during summer time, one during winter time. Exact dates will be told by FQT. It's always two months.
From January 2020 onwards, every transfer window will be in January - February and July - August, as a set schedule. Deadline Day dates will be told before every window.
Each club can also make one loan move at the end of the Sep/Oct season, when the transfer window is closed, but not more than one.
Responsible
The captain of the club should be the one in charge of transfers at the club. Some examples: he/she can contact other players to see if they want to move to his/her club. And if a player wants to leave the club, he/she can inform the captain so he/she could help, maybe with finding a new club or just try and talk to the player so he or she stays/only leaves on loan. The captain should also contact FQT along with the player he's/she's signing when a transfer is getting done, so FQT can confirm the transfer.
Permanent deals
A permanent transfer is when you leave for real and sign for a new club on a permanent basis, in other words, the opposite of a loan move. You can only make a permanent move when the transfer window is open. If you want to switch club, you must tell FQT about it and it's also good if you tell the captain of your club. We will add a fee if your transfer is permanent.
Loan deals
There are two kinds of loan moves you can do:
  1. Leave on loan for one season (two months)
  2. Leave on loan for two seasons (four months)
You can terminate a loan deal during the season, but you'll have to wait until the current GW is over before you can go back to your original club. You also need the approval of the Admins.
Transfer fees
Each permanent transfer will have a fee in it, but it's just for fun. This literally means nothing.
Other rules
It is not acceptable to buy or loan from a League 1 club who only has one player.
You can't make a permanent move twice in a transfer window. One permanent move + one loan move per transfer window.
If you move during the middle of the season, you'll have to wait until the current GW is over before the transfer can be completed. For an example, if X plays for Y and wants a transfer to Z during GW7, the transfer will go through when GW7 is over and GW8 awaits/begins.
Transfers only applies to clubs. You can't change country, with exception of certain occasions. The Admins of FQT decide about these cases.
Transfer windows in FQT
All transfer windows that has been, as to date: June - August 2016, January - February 2017, June - July 2017, December - January 2017-2018, July - August 2018, January - February 2019, July - August 2019, January - February 2020

Captains
We also have captains for every team. Captains have a different role than other players when it comes to transfers, for an example. It's also important to have an "representative" from every team, therefore we have captains. If there's no captain for your country or club and you would like to take the role, please DM us on Twitter and we will fix it.
If a captain goes two seasons without showing any kind of activity for their team, the FQT Admins can decide to strip him/her off the captaincy.

2017.11.15 22:36 NightmaresAlive TRUE BUS TRIP HORROR STORY

ONLY FOR THIS SUBREDDIT: Please do not narrate my story unless you are Mr. Nightmare Please let me give some background. None of my friends nor I have a medical record of any mental sickness and we all remember this incident. This happened about 3-4 months ago (June-July), I believe. At the time I am a Hungarian and I was a quite short 14 year old male. Ever since I've gotten bigger and am 15 now. This piece of information is actually quite important. My friends were both 14 at the time too, but much bigger than me. So let's get into the story but first let me do this: WARNING: THIS STORY COULD BE CONSIDERED DISTURBING BY SOME AUDIENCES. IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST SWEAR WORDS OR ARE SQUEAMISH TO BLOOD OR STALKERS (which is understandable so don't be ashamed for it) THEN PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE READING AND IF YOU FOUND THIS ON A SUBREDDIT I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO LEAVE THIS SUBREDDIT. Thank you and let's begin! We went on a trip to England with our old school. We were 14 at the time as I've said before. I'll refer to my friends as D1, D2, B. We were on a very weird bus, alright? It had things that I could only phrase as cubicles. We had these blocks where we basically shared a room. It had a door, a small TV, the chairs were made so you could lean back with them, a trash can, windows, a lock and so on, it was awesome (in the beginning). The only backlashes for us technology-addicted "kids" were 2 things: No Wi-fi and no power outlet. For us, we had 3 fully charged power banks, two 30 000 mAh and one 8000 mAh so we had to spare 68K mAh in total for my Surface Pro 3, an Asus gaming laptop (IDK what it's called), my phone with a 4000 mAh battery, two 3000 mAh batteries in Samsung phones and an iPhone battery (which to be honest I can't be bothered to check because in all honesty I REALLY don't like iPhones and I could not give a fuck about it) a JBL Pulse 3 and my PSP (the REALLY old one which I still use to this very day and adore it), so we were quite limited in what we could use and when. We were also limited in Wi-Fi as it was not only really slow because of mobile data and also because our "rations" in total was about 25 Gigabytes, so we were really limited. We were preparing since March for the trip so we made a chart where all of us agreed on what we would use our Wi-Fi and Power on. Just so you know, we always slept on the bus except for one night. For every day of our trip month we (combined) used 1 Gigabyte of mobile data and if I remember correctly, anywhere between 0-2000 mAh per day. On the first day, we were prank calling random numbers we found on the internet that were said to be "cursed". Most didn't answer, the ones who did answer, said something along the lines of: "Hello?" or "Yes?" or "Whose there?", you know, and what we did was mostly make inappropriate sounds (I hope that I don't need to spell it out what we did) but around the time when 12 AM came (and yes, I get it, 12 AM is cliché, I don't give a fuck, that's when it happened) we called some random number which I vividly remember contained the numbers 666 so it looked something like this: (?) ??-666-????. No answer. We were having quite a lucky row so we tried again to not break our chain of answers. Nothing. We were getting pissed. Like come on! Pick it up you fuck! We knew that the number was in use cause it aid line busy. Again... When we were about to cancel the call, someone picked it up! Yay! We were getting ready for something "hilarious", but they said nothing. We knew someone was there, we heard heavy breathing. After a minute of what felt like a combination of shock, excitement and tension, we heard tapping through the phone. The guy said in a raspy, very deep and surprisingly very quiet voice said: "I'm going to come find you." I was about to say "No you aren't!" but B put his hand on my mouth. I just ended the call, a bit freaked out but just like everyone else, laughing our asses off. Most of us fell asleep at 1 AM maybe 1:30 except one. Guess who? Of course, me. I couldn't sleep. The voice of that man. "I'm going to come find you." I got quite disturbed by that but I brushed it off and by 3 AM I fell asleep as well, just when we reached Austria. Next day something weird happened. If I didn't make it clear enough, we made the phone call from my phone. The thing that happened is that we got a text from a private number. actually it was a photo. The scary thing is, that we got the text on B's iPhone! How did he get the number? He sent a red image. We didn't know what to do. We ignored it. For the afternoon we spent our time playing Planet Coaster, Patapon and watching great movies like The Room, some Game of Thrones episodes, playing poker, enjoying Austria, having a grand time. We ate some chips and at 7 PM, had our last stop in Austria, bought some drinks, food and by 8, we left Austria. We got over the whole thing, it was quite awesome. We were driving through the border and into Germany, actually we've been on the AMAZING German highway for 2 hours, so it was 10 AM I think (I mean 22:00). and I noticed a light next to my window (because I was next to the window) but I didn't really care, except that it was quite odd, as the highway was empty except for our bus and them. A few hours pass, and we see that the lights came from a huge black van with dark windows. Odd. We Ignored it, until a man who was at least 7 feet (2 meters) tall with an ugly face, bruises on his chin and forehead and a huge scar on his left eye. He was balding, the little hair he had left was just as dark as the night, and his nose has clearly been broken quite a lot of times, who was in his early 40s rolled down the window and I kid you not, smoked two cigarettes. Again, odd. But he did something weird. He just stared at us. Just let that sink in. That man, staring at us for a good 10 seconds until D1 who sat next to the door and NOT the window decided: "Hey, let's take a picture of him and make some stupid thing out of it!" "NO!" I screamed at him with D2. We shut the curtains but because we had our "club" we had our own masks and passwords we put those mentioned masks on. For me, it was a real Gas Mask. For D1 it was a random Killer Clown mask, D2 it was a Guy Fawkes mask and B put on a Ninja mask. We were quite freaked out. We tried sleeping. Didn't work. We actually took a detour through Germany to Berlin, because our old classmate wanted to come as well but in 4th grade she moved to Germany. The point is, we opened our curtains, certain that the weirdos are gone. Yes! They are! We opened the window because it really started to smell like sweaty, hairy people and there's a reason for that. Because the bus was full of hairy, sweaty people! Luckily we were in the back so it took days for the teacher to come check us out. This piece of information is also quite important. So when we arrived in Berlin at 2 AM we were actually having fun, except when we saw the van again, this time one window in the back was rolled down and I saw two other men with similar cuts and bruises on their head. I was annoyed. There was no way these people weren't following us. Even Berlin was quite empty! I recorded myself screaming into my microphone (a GXT 210 USB Microphone) saying: "FUCK OFF CREEPS!" and then opened the window and played it on my JBL Pulse. Luckily teachers didn't hear, but the men did. His expression changed from dull and empty into furious and displeased. I got scared so we did the good ol' hide from your problems trick and closed the windows while I pulled down the curtains. At 4 AM we arrived at my old classmate's house. Everything was fine and dandy, we were more fresh than ever except that I noticed a certain black van, a very familiar certain black van parked across the street. I guess they noticed me seeing them because almost as soon as I noticed the goddamn van they drove off in a hurry. Or at least I thought so. We were quite creeped out, but still we watched some Fact or Faked episodes, played some games and at 5 AM we luckily arrived at a gas station. We had a 45 minute break. I was quite happy because I really needed to take a piss. D1 literally pissed himself a bit on the run to the toilet, D2 really needed to take a piss too and B was chill. The gas station looked like this. Typical glass slide door entrance, "basement" toilet, but the entrance to the toilet was also accessible from outside. And especially for me, it was really cozy because I love highways. Too bad the fun didn't last long because I noticed the black van in front of the gas station... I was freaking out. Everyone ran, but I ran because I was scared. When I told them, they all said that I'm freaking out over nothing, but when I told them to get out the other exit and showed them the van we all freaked out. I actually took a picture, too bad the men looked in the other direction and I didn't get the tag because I was panicking so much. We ran back into the bus after buying a few more drinks and basically slept through the whole day. We woke up at 6 PM (18:00) and nothing out of the ordinary happened. We did the same thing as always, playing, movies, shows, I've already listed it. Except when 12 AM hit I looked out again because I was still shook up and what I saw is something I didn't understand. An object I didn't get until it touched the window. It was a finger. I didn't know how to interpret it and I was shocked. I ignored it and turned on the lamp and read A Game of Thrones. I was about to turn the TV on when I saw a figure in the reflection of the black screen. It looked like something I would imagine being a man as a reflection. I turned around and what I saw was bone-chilling. I was right. There was a man on the side of our bus and our window was half open. I wanted to scream, heck later I did, but I could only imagine what would happen to us, especially when I saw the face of the man in the black van. I shut the window, pulled down the curtains, screamed (luckily the room was very soundproof so the teachers didn't hear) and went around the nearest rooms, knocking on the door, trying to keep my cool and acting like nothing happened. When they opened I told them that the teacher asked me to tell them to close the windows if they haven't already. They found it weird but they did so. I think they noticed the held back nervousness in my voice, me shaking and sweating but I didn't care. We were locked in, the guy was locked out and I accomplished my goal and returned to our room. I didn't need to explain it to my friends why I shut the window, only why I went over to the other rooms. So I did the explaining and we basically threw our chart that we made earlier if you remember, because we changed what we're doing. We're using all our mobile data and energy on finding out what the shit this is right now. A few hours have passed and still nothing. We reached Belgium by 10 PM and we stopped for a NO JOKE 2 hour stop at a gas station without us being allowed to get out of the bus! Though later I realized how l lucky we were that we didn't get out, the same black van drove up to us. We decided to stay awake for the night and see how things turn out. Or at least that was the plan... B couldn't take the late night life anymore and gave up. That makes 3 of us, a cup of coffee and one and a half liters of coca cola at 00:30. Half an hour passed. 1 AM, still awake but only 1 liter of coke now. Another half an hour. 1:30, our coffee is gone. I really needed to piss. I could have asked the teachers, but I didn't dare go outside. Another half. 2 AM, we're about to start the engine. Here every 10 minutes until 6 AM I wrote something now into my notes so enjoy (it isn't fun) 2 AM 10: "Alright, the engine has started, we're going right now." 2 AM 20: "As far as I'm concerned, the black van is still behind us." 2 AM 30: "The teacher asked me to go to sleep with the others. I told her I'll do that, but I just can't" 2 AM 40: "Another half a liter coke gone. I haven't found anything on the internet about the phone number. 2 AM 50: "D2 is almost asleep. D1 will probably hold it out with me, he has migraine." 3 AM: "D2 fell asleep. I drank the last of our coke. Now it's up to us." 3 AM 10: "I see the van. Still nothing about the phone number." 3 AM 20: "Damn, the van is next to our window. I think it calling the number was the biggest mistake of my life." 3 AM 30: "The teacher came in again. She saw that something's not okay but we shrugged it off as 'we are tired'. I don't want to tell her." 3 AM 40: "Alright, I'm officially freaking out. I'm tired, I'm scared and the man is wearing a killer clown mask and is waving at me." 3 AM 50: "I think paranoia is getting to me. Any sound I hear I think of the man on the window. I'm not telling the teacher, I don't want to end the trip. Not yet anyways..." 4 AM: "Damn, D1's migraine is gone. I mean I'm happy he's my friend I don't want to see him suffer, but if he falls asleep then what do I do? I'm only writing every half an hour now." 4 AM 30: "I think they're gone." 5 AM: "D1 might last another half an hour." 5 AM 15: "D1 fell asleep a few minutes ago. I'm still looking for some info." 5 AM 30: "I'm so tired. I think I'm onto something" 5 AM 45: " I found something." 5 AM 47: "I found a site. Apparently this number isn't cursed but it is linked to murderers. Fuck." 5 AM 50: "I see nothing. I think they gave up! I'm periodically blacking out. I'm gonna take my teachers advice and sleep." It was a quite disturbing experience but even worse, 4 hours later they woke us up in Bruges. We had to explore the city and with me believing that the van was gone I enjoyed myself a lot and everyone else too because I told them that we're safe. Oh boy was I wrong! And again I would like to say this: WARNING: THE REALLY CREEPY SHIT STARTS NOW, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! A man in very familiar black rugged clothes was walking in front of us (remember this!). As the immature twats we were, we were laughing our asses off at the chocolate penises and tits when the same man walked past us. Then he just stood next to B and we were all creeped out. He slipped an envelope into B's pocket. Nobody noticed it except me. Everyone thought it was me and I was pranking them, but the handwriting was clearly not mine. There were a few pictures in there, one of my face, one of B's, D1's and D2's and none of them were taken during the awkward and creepy 10 second stare. They were taken just a few minutes ago when we were let free on the street! What the fuck? That's horrifying! These people are stalking us! Even worse, B accidentally dropped his and on the other side, he saw a date, and some random numbers and exact times. We didn't know what it meant but D2 had the amazing idea of let's type it into Google Maps and what happened is truly terrifying. The exact coordinates of where we were going with dates and they wrote a time with an hour, minute and SECONDS. We were freaking out now. Every picture had some coordinates, dates and times on it and when we pieced all of it together, we got a calendar of when and where we'll be. We were panicking now. We got on the bus, we thought that the nightmare might finally be over, but no. We were going to France, Dunkerque. On the road, the van was still behind us. The teachers and bus drivers didn't even notice them, but I was sure that we lured those psychos into a trap, since they couldn't hurt us in the transit hotel that we're going to stay at for the night. If they stayed there, they would have to pay money and if they left at the same time it would probably be suspicious and what they probably didn't know is that we're leaving at 4 AM. The rest of the day went fine, our apartment was connected to the next one through two doors which was cool, but at 8 PM, we saw some black figures at the door and the idiots we were, we didn't call any teachers for help, we locked the door, did the curtain thing again, barricaded our door with chairs and ask our "neighbors" to do the same but we also asked them to come over. A little touch as bait, we turned their TV on, put it to max volume, took every valuable thing out of our own bags and put those in their room as well so they wouldn't come over and locked the doors which led us to their apartment, then locked ourselves in our 1 cubic meter big bathroom (all 6 of us) with all our values! The tension rose when we heard knocking on our door, then it stopped. Footsteps. It seemed like everything would be fine until suddenly dread filled me, cold sweat down my back, I nearly fainted when I realized that we didn't barricade either of their doors! Then again, knocking, then banging. The other mistake is that they left their keycard (because the doors were locked and opened by keycards) was left on their cupboard and window right open! This might sound funny, but it's not a fucking joke. They took the keycard and opened their door. The doors connecting our apartments weren't though. Full silence... Footsteps. We were panicking so much. Then we hear the banging again. I think they caught onto us hiding from them. One door broken. Then banging again. Other door broken as well. Then they try our door. It took about a minute for them to break down the other door. With that knowledge, I whispered to B, D1, D2 and the neighbors: "Get the fuck out and help me." They didn't want to go but I told them: "We have about 30 more seconds and I can't do it alone, do you want to fucking die in a minute?" They agreed. We took the desk in the room and quietly but swiftly put the desk there, hence they couldn't open the door. Somebody was walking up the stairs or at least was on the floor cause I heard the men run out of their room. We talked a bit, they thanked us and we thought the nightmare was over. Next "morning" at 2 AM, we saw a pair of eyes peeking through our window. Luckily B kept his chill and told us from his bed not to move. As you can guess, we didn't sleep that night again. We decided to get ready early, we charged our devices and power banks so we wouldn't have to do anything in a hurry. The teacher noticed us being awake and playing poker when she entered. We explained that we were having too much fun and couldn't sleep. At 4 AM we left. With recharged devices and clear minds, we were more than excited to leave the continent that is Europe (physically we did leave the continent because we crossed a sea). We got onto the ferry, we bought some things in the Ferry Tesco Copy, tried the codes on vending machines, ate some hamburger and we had a great time. Well until we saw the same man again on the ferry. What the fuck? What is that fucking man doing here? We spent the rest of the ferry ride, which was 2 more hours (the weather was against us) going around the ship, not stoping once and locking ourselves in the bathroom many times. Finally, the ride was over. Other than that psycho and the fact that he or more accurately, they followed us across sea it was actually a relaxing experience for the first time in a while. We got off into a shop where we could buy things like marmite, coke or power banks. We had quite a lot of money when we put it together, we felt so rich! I bought a 10 000 mAh power bank, so did B and D1 and D2 bought the 7 liters of coke (yes, I'm serious) and a few cups of coffee, promising that he would pay for any coffee or energy drinks to stay awake. Our story of Europe ended there. We were finally in England! We visited Dover and it was great. We were in the back of the class. We really did enjoy it until we saw the crazy men, sticking close behind us, leaving a 2 meter gap. We were panicking and ran into the middle. When we stuck our head out to check, the men were nowhere. Then we went to Canterbury and from an abandoned building, we saw a man with a huge cut on half of his face, going into his lips and up to his forehead with a bloody knife in hand. We were freaking out. We were freaking the fuck out but we didn't want to ruin anyone's trip. We paid a lot for this, so did our parents, we didn't want to waste money. We were given free time in Canterbury and we went to a McDonalds and we saw the same men sitting in a corner seat, NOT EATING ANYTHING, watching us buy our food. We wanted to eat in there but this was too freaky and at the last moment asked for them to pack it and paid them 5 extra pounds for the inconvenience. We stayed cool in the restaurant but we ran with our food like if our lives were in danger and presumably our lives WERE in danger. Then we reached the group point and over the river, the men were staring at us from the forest. We were so scared we couldn't move. Then the men began walking closer, 1 inch at a time, so it wasn't fast but it was freaky. We ran into the mentioned abandoned house out of sheer panic. Huge mistake. The 7 feet tall man who was staring at us from the van was waiting for us, I was shocked and ultimately couldn't move. He repeated what we heard on the phone with the same raspy, deep very quiet voice. "I'm going to come find you..." "I found you..." My friends started running but they noticed me shivering in fear, standing still. I vividly remember the cold tears running down my face as that madman was reaching out to me, about to grab my neck when suddenly somebody grabbed me from behind! Soon a second person, then a 3rd. I screamed out loud but soon calmed down when I saw the genuine anger in the man's eyes and the moaning, whimpering and panting of my friends. I cried to them for the rest of our free time but also got myself together as to not raise the suspicion of the teachers because we were idiots. We went to our next stop: London. We didn't get much free time in London, only half an hour. We bought some souvenirs but we had to go back into a souvenir shop because again, we saw the men follow us, but they never came inside the shops, just stalking us if that wasn't creepy enough. Since we thought fidget spinners were still cool, we wasted 10 pounds on them and to be honest, bought condoms for no reason except that it was funny. Then we saw the men coming closer to the store, again, one inch at a time. Luckily there were no actual windows into the store, only the show-window. There was a pistol replica, I believe a .45 (similar to what the Nostalgia Critic has) made out of steel. I had this great idea. "How much is that pistol?" "50 pounds." the cashier replied. "Sure, here you go" I said. My friends all looked at me like I was crazy, there's a real threat, our lives in danger, yet I'm buying an awesome pistol replica. I put it in my backpack and put on the backpack. Out on the street when the men where getting closer. B whispered "what the fuck are you doing? We're gonna die." D1 said to D2: "what the fuck is he doing, is he insane?" I took out the gun and this is why it was important that it's steel. As I've mentioned, I was a weak and small kid as a 14 year old so I actually had trouble lifting the replica. It looked like I really had a real pistol in my hand. I screamed at the men: "Hey! You! My father is military and ever since I was 4 had been teaching me how to use a gun! I know how to shoot! He gave me this gun and I bring it everywhere! I always have it loaded and I'm not afraid to shoot if you psychos don't leave us alone! Then whispered to B because he had the second most mobile data: "Search YT for .45 pistol sound and get ready with the video." The men started backing off when I put my finger on the trigger but I vividly remember the huge guy, the one who nearly killed me said in his terrifying voice "Bring it little boy, I'm going to come hunt you. I'm going to come kill you. I'm going come hunt all of you. I'm going to make you scream. You're going to suffer little boys..." His cryptic, empty words are burnt into my mind. I will never forget that. In the end the guys were so relieved they actually wanted to pay the gun's cost because I saved our asses. I said no, but thanked them. In the end they gave me 15 out of the 50 pounds but I was still really happy we made it out alive. I named the gun Mr. 45, but Mr. 45's work wasn't done... We went to Cambridge but purely for free time. These fuckers were still following. We stopped for a break as we had 2 hours of free time and I'm really not a fit kid, I never was. Then we sat down on a bench, me on the side of it, and that was part of the problem. Nobody was paying attention to each other, so what happened was entirely plausible. A man came up to me and whispered to me: "Shoot me little boy." I freaked out and since the last incident, I kept Mr. 45 in my pocket, I reached for it and held the gun at the man's face. He knew that if it was a real gun, which I believe that he thought, I wouldn't shoot him in the middle of a quite crowded street. The next logical step was to run. The man and his men started chasing us but they gave up soon, knowing that with such a crowd it might not be the brightest idea to do whatever they wanted from us. We went to a KFC cause we all love KFC and ate some food. It was great, except for the fact that the men put on some very convincing make-up so they wouldn't be suspicious. They entered the building, getting near us. We took our food and ran as fast as we could. It was end of free time by 5 minutes, our teacher called us, asked where we were. We ran back and 15 minutes after the time we could start the bus. Next stop: Amesbury We really needed to take a piss. By the way, obviously we went to the toilet every time, I just didn't say it every time. With that out of the way, we again had free time, but for us it was 15 minutes shorter, so only 30 minutes for us. Kind of sucked, until we noticed the men, now with machetes, acting insane. D2 wanted to tell the teacher but we didn't let him. Every time we needed to decide something, we voted. This one was about telling the teacher what has been happening. We won 3-1 and didn't tell. It was really late now, we slept in the bus. Don't worry, we didn't go through the whole of the British Isles, we had a really action-packed first day in England. Next day, our road led to Plymouth. That was one of our most memorable experiences. We checked out the replica of Victoria and ate Burger King, tried an open-top mall thing and called my mom. She was the first person who I told what was happening. She freaked out. She wanted to call the police or call the teachers and tell them but I stopped her and told her that the situation is in control. I thought so at least when the men in their masks appeared again, the one who I held the gun at so many times said: "You shouldn't call people you don't know, you might get in trouble... Someone might hurt you. Now come with me..." My mom didn't hear him, but we ran and screamed. My mom was crying on the line. When we got to safety I assured her that nothing happened, but the men came again. She freaked out. I told her that whenever something were to happen I would call her. I lied. The next time the psychos came was when we reached our next destination: Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Devon. We could do whatever we wanted as long as we told the teachers. We decided to do an exploration of an abandoned building, but told the teachers we would be hiking. Biggest mistake ever. These madmen knew where we would go and waited for us. In the building the same voice said: Don't forget to call your Mommy when you get back at 12:24 AM if you do. We had our flashlights on but we turned them off. They couldn't see us, I think. I don't know what happened, I heard a sudden scream of pain for a second, then splashing. I think it was blood spilling because our footprints were bloody when we left the building, but that was later. I knew they had the machetes and god knows what else with them. Luckily D1 had his blade with him because one of the men jumped at him, who knows what he was about to do when D1 stuck his blade into his knee and a loud bang, then silence... "FUCK!" The man screamed. I held the gun again but B was attacked. I pointed at the man's head with the gun, letting him know I'm there by touching his head with it. I remember every breath the 9 of us (I believe since I think someone died) took as the man said: "Kill me. Kill me if you know how to shoot boy!" Luckily it was metal so I knew what to do, I hit the man in the head with it and with a scream of agony and we all ran. When we got out, we hid in the thick woods which surrounded the building. There were huge bushes. I like reverse psychology and I always used it in my life, no better time to use it then now, at the time of a decision, I decided that anyone would think we would go far away and not stay close. I was luckily right as the 3 more men that came out didn't even check our bush, they stepped through it, the creepy man stepped on my hand, it hurt a lot, but I didn't get, nor did any of us get what we would have gotten if I hadn't made the decision to hide in the first bush, the man from the phone took out his shotgun and shooting the nearest bushes. When I saw the man get out of my sight, I told everyone this: "Fucking run!" When we started running, 10 meters later we hear someone close. We hid in a bush with D1, D2 hid behind a tree and B behind a rock. The man got too close I got D1 up and the others got the message. We ran but the man grabbed my shoulder. What happened was a miracle as my friends pulled me away from what was my demise, the man's machete as it only scarred me, but he also got B because he was trying to help me so much His popliteal (I believe that's what it is called, the thing behind the knee on the other side of the leg) area was completely sliced with the machete, he couldn't walk so we carried him, although I couldn't do much. As I've mentioned, we left a trail of bloody footsteps so the men followed us. We knew that the bus drivers slept in the bus and we knew what to do. D1 and D2 wanted to take B to a local hospital, but the men were after us for quite a time so we couldn't take a long route as we were getting tired from carrying B who literally passed out. I don't blame him. They eventually listened to me and ran in the direction of the bus. When the men saw the bus, they didn't follow us. We banged on the door of the bus like madmen, apologized and said that we do not wish to talk about it. Next day we went to Barnstaple and we still had like 10 days left from the trip with these insane people still after us... The bus drivers told the teacher what they saw, she asked us and we explained. The trip was cut short after that. The one thing we did in England is go into a dark alley with the bus and waited for the men to come. They did and the teacher asked us to call 999 (which is the British 911 number) because we could describe these psychopaths if they were to pussy out so they could still catch them. They were arrested and we went out and talked to the cops. The bad news were that only two men were arrested, but thankfully the henchmen gave the fucker up easily, so they could find and identify him. Turns out that the article I read (in the beginning of the story if you remember about a murder phone number) WAS correct and his names was James something. I don't remember but the sites with the phone numbers were removed. They said that they will arrest the man... Well, they didn't. My teachers thought that because the man knew that we used a ferry, it would be smart to not go with a ferry for safety, except that in front of us was the same black van the men used. I saw it when I went for my book which was in one of my bags when I saw it, but I freaked out even more when the madman did a 90 degree turn with the van, blocking the path. He got out and came to our window and pointed at us, laughing manically, then when we got into the other lane, he kept up with the slow traffic in the La Mache and went into, I kid you not a sewer entrance in the middle of a rainstorm. Moments later I got a call where he said the same thing: "I'm going to come find you." Later they did arrest the guy, but just incase I had my number switched, and my phone switched. I'm now living a happy life again, except that B needed to go to hospital and he has to use a crutch to this very day. For every day he was in hospital I went in there, because the guilt was killing me. I can only imagine what he would do if he comes out of jail and found us. His sentence still frighten me to this day. "I'm going to come find you. I'm going to come find you. I'm going to come find you." I'm planning on moving, even though I would be really angry with myself if I left my childhood home... I hope he won't complete the rest of his promise of a nightmare. "Bring it little boy, I'm going to come hunt you. I'm going to come kill you. I'm going come hunt all of you. I'm going to make you scream. You're going to suffer little boys..." At least none of us met our doom and I'm just happy that I got to see my family and my doggy again.

2017.11.13 22:31 NightmaresAlive TRUE BUS TRIP HORROR STORY

Please let me give some background. I'm only writing every half an hour now." 4 AM 30: "I think they're gone." 5 AM: "D1 might last another half an hour." 5 AM: "D1 fell asleep a few minutes ago. There were a few pictures in there, one of my face, one of B's, D1's and D2's and none of them were taken during the awkward and creepy 10 secon stare. Finally, the ride was open. We really did enjoy it until we saw the crazy men, sticking close behind us, leaving a 2 meter gap We were panicking and ran into the middle. He knew that if it was a real gun, which I believe that he thought, I wouldn't shoot him n the middle of a quite crowded street. I don't know what happened, I heard a sudden scream of pain for a seconds, then splashing. The bus drives told the teacher what they saw, she asked us and we explained.
